Hadith Sahih al-Bukhari 4

4 - Ibn Shihab said: Abu Salamah ibn ‘Abdurrahman told me that Jabir ibn ‘Abdullah al-Ansari, who spoke about the period of the (temporary) cessation of revelation, said among other things:
The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: I was walking and suddenly I heard a voice from heaven. I lifted up my head and saw Hira an angel coming to me, sitting on a throne between heaven and earth. I was afraid of him, and I returned and said, “Cover me, cover me,” and then Allah revealed: “O wrapped one!” Arise and admonish, and exalt your Lord, and cleanse your clothes, and avoid defilement. After that, the revelations resumed with renewed vigor and began to come one after another.

٤: قَالَ ابْنُ شِهَابٍ: وَأَخْبَرَنِي أَبُو سَلَمَةَ بْنُ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ، أَنَّ جَابِرَ بْنَ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ الأَنْصَارِيَّ، قَالَ: وَهُوَ يُحَدِّثُ عَنْ فَتْرَةِ الوَحْيِ فَقَالَ فِي حَدِيثِهِ: ﴿بَيْنَا أَنَا أَمْشِي إِذْ سَمِعْتُ صَوْتًا مِنَ السَّمَاءِ، فَرَفَعْتُ بَصَرِي، فَإِذَا المَلَكُ الَّذِي جَاءَنِي بِحِرَاءٍ جَالِسٌ عَلَى كُرْسِيٍّ بَيْنَ السَّمَاءِ وَالأَرْضِ، فَرُعِبْتُ مِنْهُ، فَرَجَعْتُ فَقُلْتُ: زَمِّلُونِي زَمِّلُونِي﴾ فَأَنْزَلَ اللَّهُ تَعَالَى: ﴿يَا أَيُّهَا المُدَّثِّرُ. قُمْ فَأَنْذِرْ﴾ [المدثر: 2] إِلَى قَوْلِهِ ﴿وَالرُّجْزَ فَاهْجُرْ﴾ [المدثر: 5]. فَحَمِيَ الوَحْيُ وَتَتَابَعَ تَابَعَهُ عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ يُوسُفَ، وَأَبُو صَالِحٍ، وَتَابَعَهُ هِلاَلُ بْنُ رَدَّادٍ، عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ، وَقَالَ يُونُسُ، وَمَعْمَرٌ بَوَادِرُهُ

The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: I was walking and suddenly I heard a voice from heaven. I lifted up my head and saw Hira an angel coming to me, sitting on a throne between heaven and earth. I was afraid of him, and I returned and said, “Cover me, cover me,” and then Allah revealed: “O wrapped one!” Arise and admonish, and exalt your Lord, and cleanse your clothes and defile.[1] '
And after this revelation, they resumed with renewed vigor and began to come one after another
